St. Joseph Outpatient Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine is part of St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. The outpatient rehabilitation clinic is located inside the main entrance of the Medical Center in Suite 205B. The program provides evidence-based therapy through an interdisciplinary model that considers available research, therapist expertise, clinical judgment, patient goals, and patient values.

The rehabilitation team evaluates and treats musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, neurological cases, vestibular concerns, post-surgical needs, and sports medicine concerns. Licensed physical therapists work with patients who have disabilities, impairments, or limitations affecting movement and physical function, including needs related to injury, disease, or other health processes. Conditions listed by the clinic include post-operative joint and spine needs, sports injuries, fractures, strains, sprains, gait and balance instability, cervical and lumbar pain, arthritis, amputations, neurological disorders, wound care, workers’ compensation cases, lymphedema, and dizziness related to inner ear dysfunction.

The clinic also provides occupational therapy for upper extremity injury or impairment affecting daily tasks, speech and language pathology for communication, cognition, voice, and swallowing concerns, and specialized lymphedema therapy. Speech therapy services include support for patients with brain injury, voice disorders, vocal cord dysfunction, head or neck cancer, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and other neurological conditions. St. Joseph’s therapists create individualized plans based on each patient’s needs, goals, and desired functional level.
