Accent Reduction / Modification Clinic is a specialized speech pathology service based in Tampa, Florida, with offices on North Westshore Boulevard and Amberly Drive. The clinic focuses on helping speakers of English as a second language improve their American English pronunciation so they can be more easily understood in everyday conversations, social situations, and professional environments. Clients include international students, business professionals, entrepreneurs, immigrants, refugees, and others who want clearer, more intelligible American English for work and daily life. The clinic serves the wider Tampa Bay region, including Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, and Hillsborough counties, and can provide services at the client’s own location when arranged.
Services are led by Donald Superfine, CCCSLP/PA, a licensed and certified Speech and Language Pathologist in Florida who holds the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence. The clinic’s programs are built around the P-ESL Compton Pronouncing English as a Second Language method, a structured accent modification approach that is available only to trained speech-language pathologists. For both individual and corporate clients, the process begins with a detailed phonological assessment that examines all relevant American English speech sounds and identifies specific pronunciation patterns, substitutions, and errors. Most programs run for approximately 13 weeks, with weekly one-hour, face-to-face sessions. Instruction targets sound production in words, sentences, and conversation, as well as aspects of prosody such as intonation, stress, rhythm, and speaking rate. Clients receive regular homework and pronunciation exercises, audio and video models, and access to online tools and programs to support daily practice, with recordings emailed back to the clinician for review and feedback. Corporate programs can be delivered on-site and include long-term access to the digital practice platform. The clinic offers a complimentary initial session for people interested in learning more about the accent modification program.
